Apparently Staples are selling off several Belkin models at selected stores for between 9 and 12 pounds.0

Thats true max but when i went to mine they only had some weird branded 350va one that they had to dig out of the back, it looked like an antique so i was abit weary!!??
I dont mind if it isnt UPS just anything 8 socket with surge at least off the sale?0 -
I picked up a belkin surgemaster plus for £25 before christmas, it has 8 plug sockets plus a socket to plug your modem and phone line into
The power cut out in our house the other night and everything that was plugged into the surgemaster stayed on and the stuff that was not plugged in went off
I have the following items plugged into my surgemaster
HD LCD TV
Xbox 360
Xbox 360 HD DVD drive
SKY box
DVD player
Pioneer 5.1 Surround sound system
The good thing with Belkin is they offer a lifetime warrenty on their products so if it breaks they will just send you a replacement and think mine has something stupid like a £100,000 guarentee for equipment plugged into it if it the surgmaster fails and damages your equipment but if you get a surge it should just blow the surgemaster before getting to your equipment0 -
you might have a mixup here, as a UPS stands for 'uninteruptable power supply' and is normally a large unit with batterys inside and a DC inverter and supplys 240v AC when there is a mains power cut for a short time to allow you to shut down the computer and save your work, a 'Surge protector' stops spikes of voltage passing further down the line to the appliance/computer and hopefully stops it crashing. 0 -
The Staples ones vary in price at different stores, depends on sticker prices on box, if no sticker then you pay the scanned price.
They have the Belkin 550 VA models at Huddersfield and Halifax for £19.91, the Halifax one is a newer model with £65,000 equipment guarantee. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=UP-010-BE
Seems some stores have applied a 50% clearance reduction twice, eg
Carlisle had them for £9.91. Withabix says they also sold a 350VA version for £6.91 and a 650VA one for £12.91.ac's lovechild0 -
