I had my lightbulb moment 10 months. I have had good success with my weight and yet not so good with my money.
I am in no worse a situation then I was last year, but certainly no better. I have just had my hours at work cut so I here I am. I am determined to be debt free once and for all.
The advice I received here last time kept me motivated and helped me. Like a fool I then thought I could do it alone and bad habits crept in once again. So just like Slimming world where the meetings are invaluable to me, I have decided I cant do this alone either.
Hope you dont mind!!

Congratulations on the weight loss!!
Trouble is with losing that amount of weight is that your clothes no longer fit and you need new ones = spending money!
Did you sell your clothes on Ebay along the way? It would make money for some new clothes that fit!0 -
Well Done with your weight loss, how about posting a SOA again and start a fresh with the finances.0

Yes. I made quite a lot on e-bay, however my wardrobe has cost a small fortune. Even there I cocked up tho. I was so excited in the summer when I had gone from a 20 to a 16 that I bought far too many clothes and all new underwear etc. Here I am 6 months later a size 12, none of it fits!!. Now I am hardly buying anything - a-line skirts so my mum can just take in the waistband for me (i cant sew to save my life!!) and black trousers. I want to lose another 16lbs and then I am done. Hubby is gonna give me money for my birthday in april and so is my mum. Hopefully then I will have enough to buy me some summer clothes.
I unfortunately put most of my clothes on credit card, which undid the good that I had previously done. Now I have my feet back firmly on the ground - no more."I will be debtfree":p0 -
Welcome back Lucifer

Well done on the weight loss! That's a battle on its own!
As already suggested, post an SOA up here, start a spending diary and off we go
Good luck!Leason learnt :beer:0 -
Welcome back and well done on the weight loss...shows you have willpower...put the same principles into debt busting and I'm sure you'll succeed...posting a new SOA is a good idea also and good luck with the last 16 pounds:T :T0

Fantastic weight loss! Now all you need to do is show the same commitment to debt busting and you'll be sorted. Welcome back and get your SOA up for us and we'll see if we can help. The good news is that you're in no worse debt than you were 10 months ago- it could have been a lot worse.Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24
currently: £13,353.25DFW Nerd 178Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Wow, Lucifer, that weightloss is fantastic!! :T :j :T (As one who needs to lose as much as you have lost, and then a little bit more, I am green with envy here!!
).
I think you have made a wise decision to come back here, though. Like you have said, SW helped you with the weight and this board can help you with the debt...and given the determination and willpower you have shown to be able to lose nearly 5 stone, you clearly have the necessary willpower to shift the debt as well.
Me? Well, I'm your opposite number :rotfl: - I've managed to shift my debt, but am still struggling with carrying the extra weight around...!! Maybe our strengths can motivate each other, so that this time next year we are both debt-free and at goal weight-wise...!
I'm willing to give it a go if you are...?!

If you are spending less time at work maybe you need to spend more time here to boost your morale? You are adjusting by the sounds of it as you have concluded that it is not wise to invest in too many clothes at present-that is very wise. Try to find some drawstring trousers-you can get away with a lot in those! Do your SOA and make a start on here, but don't be down about it as your money situation is not any worse which is more than a lot of people can say.chin up! You are a winner!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

Thanks guys, and piglet you are on. I will help you diet if you help me cut my spending.
I am not ignoring the soa point, but it is work in progress. I should have the last of the figures i need in a couple of days and then I will post it and await your much needed help.
I used to be quite controlled. I think wen i went part time after my first born (nearly 8) I kept my spending at a full time quota instead of reducing it like my income.
You are right tho I am not afraid of hard work (as my 70 miles a week on my bike prove), and I have will power just need help with the application.
I look forward to all the help I can get. I don't think I will be out of debt till Sept 11, but would like to bring that forward if I can.."I will be debtfree":p0 -

I wish I had your problem!!!:rotfl:
Seriously, well done!
Now grab a notebook and starting make a note of your expenditure to kick start you in keeping tabs on your spending and post up the SOA as everyone has suggested!
Look forward to hearing from you!!
