Any laptops that can match the Acer 5634 spec?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a laptop farily soon to replace my Toshiba. Been looking around and found this Acer at Comets site. The spec is huge but something that puts me off is what people are saying about Acer's customer service and aftersales. Before I make my final decision on the Acer, is there any other laptops that offer the same or similar spec for less/same price as Acer?

This is the Acer 5634 laptop - http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=363294

Those two laptops you have shown at redcracker and it247 are not comparable whatsoever to the Acer at Comet. It's a bit like showing someone a Lada when they are actually after a Mercedes!

maybe not but worth a look!
  • This was posted a few days ago (can't remember who) and has comparable spec. Not quite the 2GB RAM you mentioned but I'm sure you can upgrade this. It's also an Acer and slightly cheaper - here's the link.

It was me who posted.....have called Shopacer's sales enquiry line and have found out it is the same as the laptop that Tesco Direct are doing for £549.

Bought a similar spec Acer the last time Tesco were doing a deal (was the most expensive one of the 3 they had). We use Acers at work. Yes, they are the 'Ford' of the laptop world but we have never had a problem with their CS or Warranty (admitedly it is collect and return) but they are usually pretty quick.

Would recommend, you get a lot of spec for the money!

Just ordered this, it includes bag and mouse, but more importantly acers 3yr warranty extension is thrown in free

Also can get it cheaper going through Quidco + 649 tesco points :T

  • Got the lappy this afternoon, really happy with it, took me a while to sort it the way i liked it and get rid of norton. But it all up and running now. God the dual core makes a differance.

There was no free laptop bag and mouse as on the website, rang tesco up and got a £30 refund =, brill I didn't want them any way
