We owe money from a while back and it is being paid to Credit Solutions. We are paying a reduced amount but some of this is PPI and we do not want to repay it until it is sorted.
Recently they sent us a letter demanding that we repay it in full as we had missed a payment. We had not so wrote telling them that we had not.
Some things we noticed from the letter - they changed our reference number and had not told us, we was making payments on the old account number. We was getting correspondance from Power 2 Contact saying we had not paid CSL and that P2C were coming to see us to get full repayment. P2C are from the same mailing address as CSL.
We sent a letter outlining they could not send letters pretending to be different companies when they were the same company, that we had paid, that they had changed the account number without telling us, and that some of the debt was PPI so we could not repay in full yet. We offered another payment and acceptence of this monthly amount would mean they accepted this was the monthly amount we could afford. We also told them that any visits to our house would result in the police being called as they were trespassing.
They replied and we got the letter yesterday saying they accepted the amount, that they were entitled to send the letters from P2G as they were a sister company who did the work when accounts were not discussed over the telpehone and that they were entitled to visit and quoted a court case and said that only a court order would prevent them ciming to the house to 'discuss the account'.
This morning they have sent a yellow card that is quite clearly from a debt collector - they are quite clearly trying to now embarrass/harrass us into making the full payment. Or to give them our phone number so they can call us 24/7. It says that they are coming on ..... wednesday between ..... and .... - no dates and no times.
Please can someone advise on the letter we need to send now. Do we really have to get a court order to stop these people turning up on our doorstep any time they want? Thanks for any help you can give.

of course you don't need a court order and actually they probably won't even turn up, many don't. If they do, tell em to go or don't answer the door. They have as many rights to turn up at your door as the milkman. I would send your letter again to the Complaints Officer and also complain to the OFT. These people are not allowed to make your life a misery but you need to make them very aware that you know your rights as a consumer and will take the necessary steps to complain about them, They are no better than playground bullies.More than Two Years in

power to contact would turn up , they do it for a lot of utility companysDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

as said very unlikely to turn up
if they mention calling in the letter then they usually mean by phone
if they do turn up tell them to go away and deal in writing only. then report then to the oft and trading standards for ignoring your legitimate request that they deal in writing and do not make a home visit0 -
Bit of a silly question this but, does a card from a debt collection agency contravene any data protection law? Unless it is delivered by hand to the actual recipient - the sender does not know that it will be read by the correct person.0
