  • Expect it to be absolutely scorching during the day-time. If you burn easily and haven't built up any colour yet AVOID being in the full glare of the sun between noon and 3pm. Put your sunscreen on a good half-hour before you leave your accommodation and reapply on an hourly basis. Most beach resorts have sun-loungers and parasols for hire so hire them. You don't need to be in full shade all day but they are useful to limit your exposure to the sun.

Pack as little as possible and take separates which can be mixed-and-matched. I generally wear the same cheapo dress every day to and from the beach to avoid getting sun-cream on everything. I generally take a travel-wash or bar of Vanish soap to rinse things out every couple of days so I don't have to pack so much clothing. Take a long-sleeved shirt of some description to prevent over-exposure. Do not under-estimate how strong the sun is at this time of year, especially when you're walking about in the breeze! Staying in the shade and not getting quite as brown as you'd like is a million times better than getting sunburn or worse, heat-stroke.

Have a lovely time! I love Greece very much and am rather envious. Check out some of the local delicacies especially Macedonian halva and also the grocery shops for olive-oil soaps, pistachios and almonds to bring home.

Hi, I would take a large scarf- you can use it on the plane, if you get chilly (or is it just me who seems to be always seated in the cold spot)use it as a wrap, sarong, even just drape over your head when you are sunbathing.

Buy a good sun protection, I usually use factor 30 and still get a good tan. I just use Boots own, on BOGOF.

A good aftersun, and keep it in a fridge if you have one, again I use Boots one, and get one with insect repellant.

Also magicool is fab and works.

Buy a travel citronella candle, its great if you want to sit out late at night to prevent bites.

Greece tends to casual, so mix and match.

overall have a great time relax, and think of all of us stuck in England!
