Sainsbury's Ginger Snap Price Hike

I am addicted to Sainsbury's ginger snaps and was jumping for joy when the price dropped to about 40p for a twin pack :j.
Not so happy now its shot up to 69p:eek:
Does anyone know WHY this price has fluctuated so much?

well i know we dont have the facility to read the minds of the sainsburys pricing team(if 1 exists at all but i think 1 may do), maybe asking sainsburys themselves would divulge an answer.

You do have a choice, you can stop buying them or buy an alternative or acccept that prices are likely go up. Yes was the price of 40p like a special offer.

Have a look at Aldi, I'm sure they are still cheap there.

OP, you say the price dropped to 40p. What price was it before the reduction? It's this that you should be using as a baseline for any increases rather than the special offer price.

    It's only a game

Might have misled you - or maybe Sainsburys misled me - the price came down to 40p but this was not advertised as a special offer or anything, just the price. It also came down in stages. Recently there was a 3 for 2 promotion on biscuits and the price went up to about 61p for this. Now they're 69p. This low price of 40p was quite recent - less than 6 months ago so I dont think its to do with 'the rising price of food'.

Anyway, thanks for the replies. I dont like the basics ginger snaps, or tescos own, havent tried Aldi though. I just wondered if anyone knew a particular reason - like a recent shortage of ginger or something.
Until I find a suitable alternative I'll just have to keep buying them.:)

Ginger snaps are the only things that stop me from feeling sick from my horrible painkillers! I've found prices go up the more popular the items are...
Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt! :D:D

Sounds like you may be better off buying an oven thermometer so you get your oven set to the correct temperature but... palm oil is easy enough to find. Anywhere selling Asian, Indian, or Caribbean ingredients should stock it at reasonable prices alternately Asda, Sainsbury & Amazon all sell it at somewhat inflated prices.
