When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning  TFI its Friday :j a few more hours and then FREEDOM! interviewing again today - please let the candidates be good!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Good morning, all!

Ive been AWOL for ages, due at first to being ill, then traveling for work. I was up in the Karamoja region, where people live in practically prehistoric conditions and still do cattle raids so you have to plod around in flack jackets. Its fascinating but also quite depressing so glad to be back home for a bit.

DNMS Thanks for starting us off, sounds like you have a lovely day planned! Do you use Kayak for your tickets? I find it saves so much time!

    Today in MSE:

    - while waiting for bus in my Ugandan neighbor who I haven't seen for ages saw me an gave me a ride to work :) Bless!
    - breakfast from stores
    - lunch provided by work
    - will buy ingredients to make dinner tonight at home
    - check banking and update budget (wish it was payday, still another 12 days for me!!)
    - help boy with a project he needs to finish before the weekend
    - maybe go out dancing tonight, not sure yet but shouldn't cost more than a few quid

Thank goodness its friday!! Cant wait for a bit of down time this weekend.
    Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
:DDebt free as of 1 October, 2010:D

    Hi folks:

:) Go shopping with vouchers I found during the week.

:) Find cheap car insurance online and with Quidco.

:) Return library books so I don't get fined.

:) Order prescription while I'm passing the surgery.

:) Signed up to become a taster for tea and to get a green tea sample: http://www.clipper-teas.com/join-our-club

:) Anyone want a Free Pack of Whiskas Temptations? When you've signed up, they'll give you a free Whiskas Temptations voucher along with sending you lots of advice and info about being a cat owner. Free voucher available in UK only: http://www.whiskas.co.uk/my-whiskas-login

:)Do an Amortization Schedule to work out how long it'll take to pay off Credit Card 2, how much the interest will be and so on.

If any DFW can't do figures or work the online calculators and wants me to do one for them let me know. I'm good with figures. I need to know
    *your credit card balance
*interest rate of your credit card and
*how much you intend to pay off each month. Please say whether you pay of a percentage and what percentage this is or a fixed amount.

#Please note that, although I work in finance, this is my own personal advice. I aim to make no errors in the calculations but you cannot sue me if I do! :)
