I called and confirmed with Airticity that it is only the Discount that is Fixed, and not the unit price as I was originally led to believe.
They will pass on price hikes.0 -
After reading these posts and checking out their website, it did not seem to be obvious if Budget Energy operated the PowerShift Keypad system.. I called today (yesterday now) and they do so 2 wks from now I will be onto their tariffs - still operating the same way as with NIE on 3 bands per day.
NIE will still operate the 'lines' so for faults or failures you still ring the original fault reporting.
(bit like BT shipping out their phone lines)
Looks like a little saving is on the cards - also the online top-up is from £10 with budget energyLive as cheaply as possible,Current debt £85k (includes mortgage):(,Taxman £7500  bank of FiL 760 Simply B 945 Jacamo 150 Ccs 3000£1 a day Xmas 2015 7/364

I have an NIE keypad meter in and the guy from Airtricity was here today asking me to change to Airtricity.
I rang the N -power to get them to change so i can go back to direct debit for my payments so i could easily change etc......she told me that its cheaper on the Keypad meter per unit at 14.69p as its 14.69 paying on N power on direct debit.
will it be easier to swop over if i'm back on direct debit with n-power?0 -
woohoo Budget are saying (News on their website 25/8/11) that they will not raise their prices until the wholesale price rises, that means for someone already of Direct Debit (like me) = 17% - 4% (PowerNI DD discount) + 18.6% (PowerNI & Airtricity price rise in October) = 31.6% until further notice....
I saved £10 per month with Airtricity so on that basis I'll be saving a total of about twice that, maybe more!
I just hope they can hold to that for a looooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg time ;-)0
