Free Camcorder with Tesco insurance pet/life etc

  • I was looking for pet insurance and what swung it was the free HD camcorder,I have filled in the required vouchers etc etc.....took this policy out in July,its now January and still have not received it,phoned up and complained 3 times all very nicey nicey on the phone but still no camera.They now have admitted to being low stocked........can I ask for my payments back on the grounds I was mis sold ???? so annoyed with them !
  • I set up a policy with tesco in August 2011 for my kittens. I was told when i called a few months later that there was an error with the system and that it had not recorded customers clubcard numbers and i was reassured my name would go on a spreadsheet to receive the vouchers to enable me to get the camcorder.

    Around Christmas 2011 i received a letter apologising for their error and was assured that i would receive the camcorder direct to my door before 31st March 2012 due to all the errors.

    Today (16/03/12) i called to get an update on the camcorder and was told they had a lot of problems with this promotion and a gentleman would call me from a specialist team to discuss it on Monday.

    I asked would i still receive the camcorder as it is now 7 months since i took out the policy and have been more than patient with them, she said she could not possibly comment.

    Not happy i will await there call on monday.
  • Just an update. I ended up calling them, and the person who should have called me is off sick! Someone from their technical department will call me in the next 48 hours! UNBELIEVABLE!!
  • Like ICKLELISA I didn't know anything about this until I got a letter before Xmas saying that they had made an error and not sent details to me before but had put it right and I would receive camcorder by 31-03-12. Rang them yesterday to say 'where is it?' to be told they would report it to the Tech Department and I could ring the courier dealing with it - 0844 number so won't be doing that - to check it was on it's way. Shouldn't they be doing that? Shouldn't they know that? Will give it a week and then send them an email... if anyone else has any luck please leave a post so we know!
  • Have just received a call from James @ Tesco Pet Ins apologising for the delay and giving me tracking number which shows as parcel with the courier depot in Aberdeen so should arrive with me soon all being well.

    Similar story to everyone else re:the elusive camcorder! policy taken out in Aug 2011, many phone calls (I now note the date and time of my calls as they're recorded and can be traced back). They initially tried to deflect the problem by saying that i hadn't given my clubcard number, however my recorded call showed otherwise!.....then told had delays but would be sorted out (this was around autumn last year)....... then told it would be January......then told in Feb this year that they were trying to sort it all out as there were large numbers of other customers in the same position and they were considering the options of supplying an equivalent alternative or the equivalent in money.
    Today I put it all in writing in an email. Also contacted Consumer Direct today who have links to Trading Standards and they have advised me to give them a deadline to respond and resolve (suggested 7-14 days). I have said I want Tesco Bank to respond by 18/05/2012 ......... we'll see!
