Just wondered how you cope if the washing facilities in school or public toilets are not in the toilet cubicle, in my experience they aren't. Is that a problem?0

I've never had a problem and have had to go in loads of toilets with no washing facilities! I just tip mine down the loo and wipe with toilet paper, n make sure i wash it properly morning and evening.0

If you can use a disabled loo with a sink it's a little easier or if not then a few wet wipes for your finger is a bonus.Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

I've only had to empty it once in a public loo and couldn't believe my luck that that particular pub toilets had basins in the cubical!!!
Otherwise I find that I don't need to empty it at all during the day, even on my heaviest days, so am usually home to do it.
That was probably the hardest bit to get used to after having the pain of changing disposables so often during the day before I got mooncup

I should think that using it from the start could be better in some ways because you have no pre-conceived notions of what sanitary protection should be like.
As previously said, it is the sort of thing she can experiment with before her period and soaking it for a few mins in hot water will soften it loads.
As for coping in school, she probably won't even need to empty it during the day...I know I don't.

I'm 19 and these things scare me... I'd love to be able to use one though. But yeah. The pain factor worries me. I wish I had a mum who took more interest in getting me to use these things when I was younger - I 'sorted' everything myself!0

I started using mine when I was about 16 I think... Didn't have any problems.0
