Mortgage Free - what now with deeds etc ?

I'm lucky to have just paid off the mortgage. :j
What I want to know is, what happens next.
Now I've phoned the bank (Barclays) to make sure the end transaction went smoothly but when I asked about formal documentation they were a bit vague.
What documentation am I entitled to or should expect to receive ?
I've asked for a letter to be sent to me confirming that I've paid off the mortgage and the house now officially belongs to me. They replied that they don't normally do this unless asked but would provide me with a relevant brief letter.
They then asked if I wanted to have the deeds sent to me or do I want the bank to keep the deeds with them in secure storage.
Now my instinct tells me that I should have the deeds in my own safekeeping, (i.e. handily in the safe of my local bank, RBS), but can anyone advise me what the best option is ?
Thanks in advance.
