Depression

I have been on Cipralex for anxiety and depression for about 6 weeks. Yesterday and today I have been feeling very down. Today, especially I am very anxious. Is this normal for AD's? I was feeling quite good the past few weeks. Got on top of the housework and feeling generally positive. Should I go to the doctor or is a dip like this this normal?

If you've only been taking medication for 6 weeks I wouldn't have thought it would have stopped working so soon. It might be worth mentioning this to your GP the next time you have a review.

Nelly is a "he" and I agree with your comments.

He can be very funny but does not realise that everything in life cannot be cured by a "joke and a laugh!" As he would probably put it.

He also does not realise that not all posts are appropriate places for his humour.

Several thread which were quite interesting and thought provoking were brought to an end by his inappropriate humour and ridiculing of the poster.

Doubtless because he could not understand the concepts and the scientific language used - he poked fun and the thread disappeared.

Some very intelligent and thoughtful people have been "scared off" by him.

Not because he is malicious - but his knee jerk reaction to anything he does not understand - is to mock and disparage it.

evening everyone :wave:

My daughter has now been put under Section 3 of the Mental Health Act which can last up to 6 months :eek:

it was really odd.. she started behaving very strangely just before the assessement and carried it on all the way thru... making weird comments n stuff.. then once it was over and we had an hour for a cup of tea and a chat.. she was fine again.. no explanation as to why she had done that

anyway.. enuff about me..

RBK sorry for going quiet so quickly.. the bus was packed and i could barely hold the phone steady anymore.. full of horrible sweaty people.. bleughh..

Tiffy you rascal.. winding up nelly.. hehehe.. tis true what Elona said tho.. he's not exactly Mr Sensitivity and I don't think he even realises that he can cause offence at times or the consequences of what he says. He is very funny tho in other circumstances, lol

Do you think she may have been showing her vulnerability because she knew she needed the help?

possibly.. but whenn they asked her why she burns her arms.. she said.. cos it's fun, likewise with the cutting and the overdoses.. then she said the windows at home are the wrong sort and she can't make use of them but she can the windows at the hospital

it was just really horrible to listen to.. I had tears rolling down my cheeks but I did manage not to cry, if that makes sense? Even tho I know she's not well enough to be at home, it still hurt to hear that she will be forced to have treatment..

Rbk, ok hun firstly hun, (((((huggles))))), been thinking bout you today, guess my RBK radar is a bleeping. As farr as I know things should be explained to you if meds or anything is to change, we all know the importance of routine, doesn’t matter what we do even if its get up get dressed, put on kettle, we all need a routine so we can structure, and it doesn’t sound like you have too much of this atm. What are your parents doing? Have you got a care worker/CPN you could talk to about the hospital visit, or see what the person went with you felt was meant. If you do not feel ok, make sure you get back to see your GP hun. And you know im always here for you xxx
