Hello, I am clearing the bits out of the cupboard by using them up & I wondered why instant mash goes cold so quickly?

Probably coz if your like me I make it whilst dishing other things up and its starts to cool before its even hit the plate.
Make it in a bowl, serve everything else, nuke for a minute serve and enjoy.....hot!

Perhaps because the bowl used and the powder/flakes are cold to start with? Mash made with boiled potatoes starts off with hot ingredients and is often made in the hot pan the potatoes were cooked in. You could always blitz your instant mash in the microwave just before serving up.

Good idea, didn't think about blitzing it first, that was the last of the instant mash though anyway - hurray!0
