I know you can get money for old mobiles and apparently for empty ink cartridges but what else can you get money for?

Almost everything has some value, now if the value is worth the effort is another question.

Old mobiles are simply a secondhand items, everything in your home could be sold as a secondhand item. Some services are set up to assist with disposing of collections of things like books, DVDs, CDs etc but their payouts are fairly minimal.

Many cheaper mobiles have no value whatsoever, new technology is rendering so much obsolete so quickly that secondhand values are minimal. Many electrical items now seem to have short lives, so anything over 3 years old will probably not be worth a lot. Laptops may be an exception to this. Gold prices are still fairly good.

Judging from the completed lists section of Ebay, I would doubt that anymore than 10% of the items on offer sell, and many only sell for the start price.
