Afternoon guys, I posted a diary I think quite a while ago but no idea where it went and so heres to a shiney new diary for me.
I am 37 and married. We have no kids or pets (unless you count the fish in the pond).
I have about £45000.00 left to pay on the mortgage and I want to pay it off by the time I am 40 so thats 31months from September:eek:
I can't decide which is best... pay off the mortgage a little at a time or put the money into an account to pay off in lump sums when I know we won't miss the money.
I earn around £600 per month and intend to put that towards MF but septembers is already spoken for - shame
I am going to try my very best to pay this off and will update as and when

Thats a good target! I would say you would be better to save some so you have a cushion just in case. But part of the fun with overpaying is knowing your reducing the amount of interest you are paying... if you have a really low interest rate then I would stick it in a high interest account.
Good luck!!![STRIKE]£106,200[/STRIKE] mortgage with 5% deposit 2 years ago on 6.99% 04/06/08
Overpaying the max 10% per year for the next 2 years until July 2013 when I can remortgage and should be able to get down to 55% LTV.
Overpaid 10% £10,619.87 Dec 2010 & 10% £9,475 Aug 2011
Mortgage was £690 now £560
Currently £85,203 - 71% LTV 26/08/110
