Hen Party Ideas (Possibly London??)

Hello all!

I am trying to arrange my little sisters hen... it is october.

I was thinking going to a cupcake decorating class in a burlesque bar (includes glass of cava) £35
then back to travellodge (£55 - three to a room)
the onto a gorgeous restuarant called Little Bay (fab cheap food!!) £20 pp (est)
then onto reflex.... excl drinks I think this will cost around £75pp

but I am now thinking of maybe going to the icecream palour (sp) at fortnum and masons or harrods etc and having a girly few hours there?
or maybe even get the eurostar to paris for the day? arghhhhh!! help please!! xxxx

  • I like the ice cream parlour idea :) Paris sounds nice but from my own recent perspective as a hen I would be a bit wary money wise as the last hen party I went on cost the equivalent of my week's wages!

On my boyfriend's sister's hen do we had a life drawing class - not sure how much it cost but it was quite a good giggly way to bond. Or if you want something very 'London' how about a cruise on the river? I know a lot of the pleasure boat companies will lay on food and champagne for special occasions.

If its cost your thinking of, London is one of the most expensive cities in great britain...

Where in the UK are you? Some nice places to go where you can mix shopping and an activity up. x

Yeah peacock bar is where I have found the cupcake decorating.
we are in essex and most of us work in london (i used to but am now a local worker!) so most of the girls will already have their season tickets for the trains which will keep the cost down. I dont find london to be that expenisive if you know the places to go.... the restaurant 'Little Bay' is in Farringdon and is a very quirky resturant that doesnt look like much from the outside but the food is amazing and soooo cheap, ( at the mo iit is all half price!) many of the chefs here go on to work for michealin (sp!) starred chefs....

I got a quote yesterday for the eurostar, £53 pp for the premier which inlcudes food and drink both ways, then was thinking of either doing a paris treasure hunt (found a few companies that do this!) or high tea at a lovely looking hotel which is 30 Euros....

I, personally, would love that but it isnt my hen do! arghhh! I really want her to have fun! She isnt a huge drinker ie. she wont do shots etc, and she isnt really a night owl - generally in from a night out by 12, whereas I am like a stray cat and roll in for breakfast ;-)

Only if you do the touristy things, there are plenty of bargains to be had.

That Little Bay Restaurant is amazing - delicious quality french food - I go all the time. They currently have an offer on where you can have 3 courses for £8.44! I went with some mates last week & we ate and had wine for £12 each including a tip.

OP - I think the activity is a better idea than the icecream parlour, as I'm not sure how long you can sit eating ice cream before you get bored.
Groupon & lastminute etc often have deals on for stuff like that, and with the making course, you get entertainment AND you get to eat your spoils!

Infact I did a chocolate tasting & making course that was near to little bay in Farringdon, so that would be convenient.

Another idea for a good night out is Club Du Fromage in Angel, again, not too far from Farringdon. It does what it says on the tin, plays good old cheese for having a boogie to. And tickets are only £6.50 in advance! http://www.clubdefromage.com/

Ooh you may have seen me in there.... many a cheeky work lunch spilled into dinner there :-) And the boss didnt mind me handing in the 'expenses' of about £25! haha!

Do you still have the details of the chocolate making you did? The club looks ace... if there is one thing you need at a hen do it is Cheese! hahahaha!

I'm not sure - it was given to me as a gift, I think from lastminute, but I had a quick search & couldn't figure out which one it was. I'll see if I can find out more.

Also, a couple more ideas for clubbing - I Love the 80s or I Love the 90s nights at the Jazz Cafe, Camden. Advance tickets are £4-5.

If you're wanting something a little more risque or naughty you could book a life modelling class, one specifically for hen parties though.
My friends fiancee did it and said she had a great time.
  • Well, I haven't seen any hen party in London, so I can't suggest you in that way. But, I have seen the party in Cork, it was really awesome, if you can manage to organize the party over there, then go for it..
