Happy days, I use Sainsburys anyway!!
  • So do I!

There's sometimes a benefit in being a relatively small area - the perfect place for Mr S to trial this!
  • Excellent will definitely be giving this a go, i like Sainsburys anyway.
    Thanks.

So I wonder if, for example, I buy 3 x 2litres of coke in Sainsburys it will cost me £5.34 but only cost £3.00 in Asda will I get a coupon for £2.34 or does the following condition apply?

5.Do you match against store specific discounts?
We match Sainsbury's prices and deals to prices and deals collected from asda.co.uk and tesco.com for comparable branded products. We do not match against store specific discounts at Asda or Tesco

The prices are taken from Asda's and Tesco's websites, so any discounts on there would be matched. Any discounts which are specific to a local store (or presumably not UK-wide?) won't be matched.

That's what I read into it, but looking at their example

Number bought Product Sainsbury’s Price Tesco Price Notes
    1 Uncle Ben's Wholegrain Rice £1.96 £2.09 Multibuy offer at Tesco – 3 for £3.00.

they could have made it clearer if they had compared number required for the multibuy in Tescos i.e.

Number bought Product Sainsbury’s Price Tesco Price Notes
    3 Uncle Ben's Wholegrain Rice £5.88 £3.00 Multibuy offer at Tesco – 3 for £3.00.

From what I understand you have to spend a minimum of £20 to qualify for the offer and it only includes branded products, not Sainsbury's , Tesco or Asda's own branded products. You will get a voucher for the difference if Tesco's or Asda were cheaper. My receipt said I saved £6.03 but you would have to go to the other shops and buy the same stuff to see if it's correct.
