New Years Eve wedding, any ideas?

:wave:Hi everyone,
We're planning a New Year Eve wedding next year and I need help! We have a winter wedding to attend this December so we're going for a more New Years Eve theme instead.
So far we have the venue and the photographer booked.
We are having roughly 60 guests (15 of which are children) and the venue unfortunately doesn't allow fireworks or chinese lanterns. They also don't allow anything attached to the walls or ceiling due to the age of the venue.
Our colour theme is black and white with maybe gold as an accent colour.
I would love to get some ideas as I'm really struggling.

Why not make it a blacktie event so that people can really dress up think oscars/red carpet etc. Your invites could be like winners envelopes etc...

That sounds amazing. The grooms party is in dinner suits so not sure if it'll make them look like everyone else lol.
I'm really struggling with stationery at the moment.
REally love these but they are so out of our budget:

i'd only say get the invites out early - we couldn't go to a wedding at new year a couple of years ago as we'd already made new year arrangements.

Could you not have the grooms party with cummerbund sets in your accent colour so they are different to the rest of your guest and then they will have button holes too so should stand out.

i agree with melancholly about sending invites out early, people make plans for new years very early so best do invites/STD asap

    That's a good idea. Thanks!
We're looking at sending STD's (always makes me chuckle :D) in January
I would love to do our own stationery but don't really know where to start. I've got a few script fonts which I downloaded but now I love the idea of the fireworks which are indented (not sure that's the right word, but if you click on the link on the other post you'll see what I mean!)

We're only having about 60 people most of which are couples or families so we'll actually only need about 20-25.

Also love this one as it's just so simple and elegant:

Although I don't recognise the font of the "dinner & dancing" and their names.

They are very elegant and you could add gold embellishments or gold envelopes to keep them in with your theme.

Im gonna have a go at making my own invites too after being inspired by the fab ladies on here see my thread - homemade invitations ideas

oh yes oscars would be nice, that one white and navy blue with silver

is ur venue in a place where u could exit it and do fireworks? eg can they go down of the venue property and let them off, so u can see them from the venue...if thats makes sence?
Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)

Unfortunately not Mandymoo, it's a hotel in a restidential area, so I it's not allowed, which is a shame as the venue has stunning grounds.

Using black and white as a base what about:

Vintage glamour theme? think 1930/1940 styling?

When you say winter wonderland what is your friend having? I know mine style is winter wonderland but very different to others so there is nothing to say you cant still use some of those ideas?

Have a look on Koyal wholesales which is a usa site they have loads of ideas for themes on there wiht stuff to buy. Just so you are aware I have brought loads on there (whoops not very MSE when you have to pay import tax and shipping but I loved them none the less).
