Help needed - debt recovery letter rec'd from Mackenzie Hall

Please can someone help me. I was discharged from bankruptcy over 7 years ago. At the time I was living at my parents address. Today they received a letter addressed to my maiden name, from Mackenzie Hall, chasing a debt. This letter was stamped urgent but didn't state an amount.
I feel absolutely sick. I don't know if this debt is anything to do with debts realting to my bankruptcy back in 2003 but I do know that I havent owed a penny to anyone since. I don't know what to do or why they would turn up nearly 8 years later out of the blue and send a letter to my parents house. Please please can somebody help and give me some advice.

Sorry, I have never been on a forum before and am worried sick and wasn't sure how to start my own thread. It doesn't matter.
I feel even worse now.0 -
If you haven't acknowledged the debt or paid anything towards it in the last six years then its statue barred.
Debt buyers love to buy old debts for pennies in the pound then try to make you pay making them a nice little profit because you don't know about the statue of limitations act 1980.
They tried to make me pay a debt from 1997 and I told them it was statue barred and I wasn't paying it and haven't heard anything since.I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -

Same advice as to the other poster above - prove it letter first. In your case you have an additional angle - if the debt pre-dates your bankruptcy, it is covered by your bankruptcy (whether it was listed on your forms or not!).
As MH are notorious for chasing people who have no connection to the debt, it might turn out not to have been your debt, ever!0 -
Agree with the other posts above, tell them to do one0
