Hi there
I'm looking to make a beef mince stew tonight for tomorrow, I've searched through the index and also a search with the words but cant find any recipes or tips.
I'm using my slow cooker during the night for it, so I was just wondering did anyone have any ideas on how to do it, I was going to soften the veg and brown the mince, I'm unsure on when to add the potatoes, do I just bung them all in together and hope for the best? (I hope so
) , also what about the gravy in it?
Hope I haven't reposted something that can be found else where
Cath

we have something similar along these lines and both DS and DD love it. I just lob everything in without browing or anything pour some gravy over it and whack it on low. I usually switch it on mid morning for a 5.30-6ish dinner. I don't put potatoes in mine but cook them separatly as thats the way we prefer although I remember reading on her how someone had fashioned a bain marie type arrangement to cook the potatoes separate from the stew but in the slow cooker with the meat and stuff by outting them in a separate dish in the gravy/meat mix.
Good luck with it. Sure it'll taste yummy whatever you do with it!0 -
I put everything in the slow cooker together.
I usually brown the mince off first and make up the gravy, throw it all in with the veg and leave it.
I put enough gravy in to cover everything.
HTHIf everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight0
