Credit Rating Advice Please...

Hello,

On credit expert I have an inexplicable score rated as poor.

I have no missed payments in the last year, defaults etc and I have a good credit history so the 'Poor' is not due to lack of activity.

The problem is that next to my rating of 'poor' is a box that says 'Factors Having a Negative Effect on your rating'......
In the box is says "there are NO negative factors"

So why is my rating still poor???? and how can i fix it?????

I need to finance a car this month. Please please please any help/advice would be great.

BW:(

Have you actually applied for credit and been declined or are you just worried that you will be because of the poor rating?

What is actually on your credit file?

Are you on the electoral roll?
How many credit accounts are showing on your credit file? have all payments all been made on time? or only for the last year?
Have you had lots of credit searches recently?
Are all your credit accounts recently opened?
Are you carrying ongoing debts? if you have cards with balances are you paying just the minimum or more?
Do you have an overdraft? do you use it every month? any markers for going over limit or having payments bounce?

Generally the ratings given are only a very general guide and the scores they give are near useless. A potential lender will only see the detail of your actual credit report so if this all looks good and clean (and green) I wouldn't worry too much about the rating system.
A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give
or "It costs nowt to be nice"
