Does anyone know of anywhere to get packs of mixed buttons? I have look at some online haberdashery shops but can't seem to find many, and none that do really random ones. I am trying to make my own clothes which is lots of fun!
Thanks
Thanks

Charity shops often have button jars, ask they tend to be out the back.0

I don't know if the following info will be of any help to you.
I discovered a couple of weeks ago that some charity shops have 'button boxes'. Apparently the buttons are popular with people who knit/sew and they're very cheap to buy.0 -
I get mine from a local charity shop - although not all of them do buttons so might be worth asking

Also, if you're getting rid of clothes that aren't good enough for the charity shop, take the buttons off first!0 -
Thanks everyone, I didn't think of charity shops. The ones I have found online have been quite expensive so charity shops would be perfect.Mortgage free Jan 2012

charity shops! older relatives often have button boxes and will usually be pleased to pass some on! dont forget that buying garments (cos they have nice buttons) from charity shops (especially from thier sale rails or bins) is often far cheaper than buying new buttons from haberdashers such as Shaws! I have seen buttons on sale for more than a pound each!0

I've got buttons from charity shops before but i found buying a job lot of mixed buttons on Ebay was cheaper. It's great fun sorting them out when they come all mixed up too.0

I bought a packet of random buttons in one of my local discount shops....they were marked as a craft item I think...forget how much they were but lots cheaper than buying those cards of buttons which is often all that is on offer.

I've seen bags of mixed buttons on market stalls before, also you can often buy single buttons there if you dont want a card full.0

Ebay has plenty of mixed packs of buttons. As well as the new ones in the craft section, if you don't mind second hand ones, look in their Colelctable - Sewing - Buttons section0

I'd try market stalls. They often have buttons in tubes and you can buy as many as you want.
The charity shop where I work got rid of the button jar years ago-we'd have customers who would spend ages going through it, often emptying it on the counter and then we could only charge them a few pence for the buttons.0
