Final Jobseeker's Allowance payment

Hi everyone; first time poster, long time lurker.
I have read the stickys, and have nigh on spammed the search function, but I simply cannot find a satisfatory answer to a question that has been bugging me all day.
If the information is there and I've missed it, I apologise for creating a new thread and will try harder in future not to do it again.
Anyway, my question is about Jobseeker's Allowance.
I signed off this morning, but I also signed on. I last signed on on 2nd of August (fortnightly every Tuesday), and I expect to receive a payment of £106.90 on Friday 19th, as usual.
Now, my question is this: Will I also receive a payment on 2nd September? It is 2 weeks after this Friday when my payment is due, and I understand that you are entitled to payment right up to the day before you sign off.
The lady who signed me off said she would allow me to sign on today, but that she would sign me off tomorrow.
Will I get any more money after this Friday? I have heard that JSA is paid in arrears, but I am still confused. Could somebody please clarify this for me, as it's really bugging me.
Thanks in advance.

If your signing off date is 16th or 17th, then the payment you receive on 19th is your last payment.
You are paid in arrears, because you have to sign to confirm you have been looking for work, but not done any over the last 2 weeks, hence you get paid your 2 weeks money after you prove to your advisor you've been jobseeking and "sign on", it then takes a few days to reach your bank account/be paid to you.0 -
what date did you tell her you start work?:wall:Trying to get a grip :think:0

Ah ok, I see. I thought it was always 2 weeks in arrears, so when you signed off from JSA there would be a "buffer" payment waiting after you had received your money that would catch up and that would be the final payment. Apparently not, but thanks for clearing this up for me.If your signing off date is 16th or 17th, then the payment you receive on 19th is your last payment.

And I'm not starting work; I'm going to university in about a month and so if I wanted to maintain my benefit claim I'd have to have to go see some tutor and attend a local college for some sort of seminar. Screw that, I thought, and opted to sign off today.0
