Default for £27.65

Hi there
less than a year ago I applied for a freedom card which is useful to build credit
Unfortunatly there was a missunderstanding on what product I had as I had pay as you go which had no fee but when I upgraded to credit booster it stated it £2.00 change over fee and I never had £2.00 on my card so I didn't think it happened anyway it did get upgraded which meant I missed about 7 payments which was £27.65 , I never got an email, letter or anything, when I did realised I paid all the missing payments, anyway since then I noticed on my credit file that it shows defaulted
So gutted, if I had been warned of this I 100% would have not let this happen
Is it right I should have got a default warning letter?
It seems such a shame that all my hard work this year settling my debts has been for nothing
Any ideas, thanks in advance

Yes you should have got a letter.
There is a template somewhere on here about trying to get a default removed.
I would have thought that for such a small amount and a settled default most lenders would take a view on this.0
