Advice please...
Been turned down by Rentsmart which is PC World's rental scheme provider...
Looking to get a new computer (worth £800) and want to put down £300 and either do Buy Now or spread cost for the rest...
I've got defaults - been turned down for Argos card etc recently.... is there any point me going to PC World to see if I can get credit from them, or is it just going to through up a No too!!!..
Is Currys / PC World easier to get credit does anyone know...
Cheers

With defaults on your credit file you'll be declined by them as well almost certainly.
Could you not get a computer much cheaper by buying from online sites - I've seen some of the techy folk on these forums say that places like PC world charge almost double what you might pay elsewhere - so maybe you could get a very similar spec computer for not much more than your £300 you already have put aside?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Seriously, count yourself lucky you haven't been accepted for rentsmart. Its an absolute nightmare and PC World sales reps are conning people into this scheme. An £800 laptop would probably cost you about £2k by the end of the scheme if not more. I'm having murder with them (well PC World) regarding miss-selling it. Just read the thread below

Do have anyone in your family or friends who tech savvy? You could use the £300 you have already to upgrade your old PC tower. You could also ask them to look on eBay for a high-spec (or higher spec than you have) second hand tower, you really do NOT need to spend £800 on a new computer... Count yourself lucky you were refused."I once grumbled at having no boots - until I met a man with no feet" Anon

What do you mainly use your computer for? £800 is a lot to spend unless you are a serious gamer. In fact the 300 you have would probably be enough for a fairly decent machine. Especially if you already have a monitorAttempting the grasp the first rung of the property ladder:

This is true, I had a gaming computer that was built by my boyfriend. It cost around £700 and that was a few years ago now!
For 300 you could get a good pc if all you need it for is internet, office work, documents and photos etc.
If it is more space that you need just buy another external hard drive to store more things on.
You will always pay more for a pc that is already put together, don't let them rip you off!I'm on my way... :grinheart0 -
This Lenovo(IBM) we have is awesome for the price but you need an extra 79 and has a Core i3 processor, 4GB ram, 320GB HDD - go to the PCW website and search for SKU 952270 or if you cannot raise the 79 check out SKU 7671260
