Tesco Flymo Mini Trim ST now £6.50

Just returned from Gallows Corner store and found the Fymo mini trim reduced to £6.50. I think they were £27.50 originally!

I think Flymo tried the same trick that the ink jet print companies do - supply the machine cheap and make money on consumables. This is the case with Flymo, although competent but the trim lines do cost a fortune in replacing them considering that each line does not last longer than few minutes of trimming.

However, saying that I have now worked out a neat way of getting round to this problem. Just buy a real of say 1.26mm nylon trim, cut out several 10-11in pieces and then in each piece make a knot or two in the centre to hold it in place so as not to fly out. This does the trick and does as good a job as an expensive trim line. I was about to buy a new trimmer out of frustration but this trick saved my investing in a new one. :rotfl:.
