STYLIST

Microfiction competition: day 5

Tell us a story in 100 words and win a creative writing course

Tuesday 16 August is your last chance to enter our microfiction competition, in which we're inviting readers to tell us a story in 100 words or less for the chance to win a creative writing course at the London School of Journalism.

Above is our final 'inspiration image', which your work of microfiction should be based on, not matter how loosely. Based on this image, entrants need to tell a story in 100 words or less and submit it in the comments section below, which will be open between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday 16 August only. After this time, the Stylist editorial team will don their judging hats and choose a daily winner. That winner's work of microfiction will then be published on this page.
Once all of the daily competition have closed and winners have been selected, all five will be put to a top author (name to be revealed shortly!) who will be tasked with choosing an overall winner. That winner will win a distance learning creative writing course of their choice at the London School of Journalism.

A few terms and conditions: There is no fee to enter but entrants must leave their full names and email addresses, which will only be used to contact them if they are a winner. Entries must be received by 3pm on the date stated above - any entries received after this time will not be considered. By posting below, entrants agree that Stylist can publish their stories on stylist.co.uk, in Stylist magazine and any promotional material for Shortlist Media Ltd. Microfiction must not have been published elsewhere or submitted for any other writing competition. No individual feedback will be provided. Readers can submit an unlimited number of entries. The prize will be supplied by the London School of Journalism. There is no cash alternative. Title is not included in the 100 word limit. The judges' decision is final. Usual Stylist terms and conditions apply.
