When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning guys  hope you're all happy & bright this morning :D the weather is not looking good here today....

Interviewing all day so its going to be a long one, fingers crossed there are some corkers

    Morning all!

After a few days holiday I'm up early and ready to go back to work - ho hum. Only for two days then I'm off Thursday though, so yay!

I managed to both be exceptionally DFW-y and yet very bad DFW-y in my 6 days off work - nieces and nephew are down so lots of free kiddie entertainment, scuppered only by my getting bored and booking a hair cut on Saturday... In my defense, I was about to book an appointment for 2 weeks time, and there was an offer for Sat only! And I've rebooked for December, stretching out my usual 11-12 weeks into 14. And I started my Xmas present buying from the reduced DVD box sets on Amazon... I know there are plenty of people out there who are already done, but I do feel better for having started!!!!

    Anyhoo, onto today's list:
    • Check banking and adjust remaining money until payday after weekend spends...:o
    • Check credit card
    • Pay off 'car' credit card
    • Check TCB
    • See if Paypal fees have been taken yet
    • Post test items
    • Post Ebay item
    • Car share to work
    • Work hard!
    • Drink 2lts of water
    • 20 mins on cross trainer?
    • Do some OUing!
    • NSD
    • Smile lots - only two days til another day off!

Thanks DNMS for starting the thread - pouring down here too!

    Have a great day everyone!

    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • chopped and frozen six peppers bought last night at a bargain price
    I will also:
    • read at lunchtime to avoid the shops
    • keep an eye on surveys during the day - did loads yesterday
    • write to my friend explaining why I can't go and stay with her next week - cheaper than a two hour girlie natter!

    Morning all!
Not raining here yet but its going to!

Had quite a good DFW day yesterday - phoned Sky and Npower and managed to reduce the monthly direct debits by £24 and £12 respectively so a monthly saving of £36 - not a fortune but it'll be at least a week's grocery shopping's worth!:T

    Today's list...
    • Have quickly walked dog - big walkies later
    • Going for haircut at 9am - not geting it dyed to save money, have a £5 kit ready to do it myself, so should be about £25 instead of £50
    • Do at least 2 hours school work (doing ok with this so far)
    • All food from stores
    • Fill holes (still not done!)
    • Tidy out kitchen cupboard
    • Sort out the bins
    • Phone tax office about £200ish refund
    • Put dry washing away - maybe do a bit of ironing
That's all I can think of for now - hope everyone has a good day
