I am very much like you rog2 today. We got extra meat during December from the butcher and Sainsbury's and there are still things left from Christmas in the fridge. I am hoping to avoid a full shop until at least middle of next week. Just need some veggies today!

    We can do this :)

Mainly bread, milk and veg for us too - not forgetting the catfood. Other years we have ended up throwing so much away, and whilst we tried not to overshop, there's plenty left, and we are determined not to feed it to the birds.
PS we've still got about a kilo of sprouts (10p Tescos New Years Eve) and carrots, which still look okay - so it's mainly potatoes - perhaps some broccoli - if it's reduced.
AND we are working our way through all the pickles this year.

£1.80 on return bus fare to town where I had an eye test however my works are paying for this so I won't count it. And I got £18 worth of advantage points into the deal as well :D

I also had £45 worth of Boots gift card to use today and I had a BALL spending it!

So my 'free shopping' consisted of:

Topping up my PAYG mobile with £5.
Stocking up on shower gel, body lotion & hand cream.
I also bought some Boots foot care products, including a 'diamond dusted' foot file (!) as it was buy 3 and get the cheapest was free.

I got a new Bourjois eye shadow (with a £1 off voucher to redeem as well - hooray!), some No.7 nail & cuticle cream (with £5 off voucher as well so it 'cost' £1 - total bargain).

I also got some new toothbrushes as it was BOGOF on Colgate sensitive toothbrushes, some dental floss, some Sensodyne toothpaste, some John Freida hair gel (never tried it before but it was only 65p as I had yet another money off voucher, £3 off!) and....a banana smoothie to quaff on the way back to the bus station!

I had a lovely time browsing for all those much needed and used frequently things and it should really help this month with the grocery bill as I won't need to buy these things when out shopping. Well times as well as my hand lotion ran out this morning!

I'm a happy DFW today. All that stuff and I only spent £1.80 cash!

  • Hello all,

Today we had to go food shopping and have spent £32.51p. This should be it for it today as I plan to stay in tonight with OH and watch a few DVDs.

  • Well hopefully a NSD for me today but have been to look round a few gyms in the area, and I know they are a luxary but I enjoy going and I particularly love swimming so at least if I'm at the gym then I won't be spending anything else, the nicest (luckily) and cheapest I found was £37 a month but it's massive and seems very friendly has 3 pools and loads of classses and equipment so I'm plumping for it! I def need to shape up as well, plus the £100joining fee is £0 this month with it being January and all! Will go back and join tomorrow. So NSD today but about £35 tomorrow for the rest of this months membership fees!!
    Just trying to be me.....
