NHS loses long-term care court case

A family has won a landmark victory in court over who should pay for the long term care of an elderly lady with severe Alzheimers.

This could lead to refunds for other families who have been forced to sell their homes to pay for care of people with 24/7 nursing and medical needs, which should be funded by the NHS. :T

The man who won this case was on the Money Programme on radio 4 today. It took him a long time to win this case but he did sound like the tenacious type and I was full of admiration for him. You can probably read about it on the BBC site. The amount involved was £50K.0

It's good to see that people are fighting back so effectively these days - eg over bank charges and endowment misselling as well.
