Lee Stafford Arganoil 3 for £12 in Boots...

  • Is there much use speaking to Joe? Boots always honour glitch prices (at least for the past three years) so if they have ran out of stock a cancellation email gets sent. It is frustrating though as they often only put a small quantity available and the system doesn't update real time, so they often oversell and then you have to be quick off the mark if it comes back into stock. I'm not sure why if you really wanted it, speaking to Joe to be told the same thing would help them?

If it is an error it will be fixed quickly now it's been brought to light, but if it's not I wonder if they would inform stores to allow them to be bought as 3 for £12.

I'd got an e-mail saying: "As part of our internal procedures to protect our customers we undertake a series of order checks. Having carried out these checks we are regret we are unable to proceed any further with the order detailed below".

If they'd sent me an e-mail saying that the item was out of stock then that would have been okay and I would've accepted that. But, some people aren't getting their orders and I thought it was because they didn't want to honour the offer. I have never ordered Boots glitches before so don't know from experience if they honour them. Also, I was annoyed as I'd ordered a perfume and body lotion with the order which was going to be given as a gift. Hence why I called up. No-one could tell me what the reason for the cancellation was - not even 'Joe', so it's been referred to someone else. He told me that no-one else had got cancellations of the lee stafford oil products which was untrue as several people I know have had their orders cancelled.

But, reading through some of the posts it seems someone's actually had an order dispatched. So, perhaps it may just be a stock issue. Just wish companies would tell the truth - 'we've run out of stock'. Not really difficult to do. Anyway, the landline number may come in handy for future Boots issues...

I am pretty sure I have seen pure Argan oil for sale in Sainsburys? It must be available in specialist food shops.
  • Back in stock this morning for £11.99.
Offer has been removed. Bit strange to have it back in stock
    so soon

They are definitely lying if they say they didn't cancel orders because they didn't want to fulfill a glitch. I ordered 2 of the argan oil and a different LS item, and they just dispatched the one other item and cancelled the Argan Oil, despite the fact that the oil is in stock online.
  • In Superdrug they have Argan Oil Hair Treatment on offer at the moment for £6.49 instead of £9.99 for 100ml.

They also have extra points at the moment in store with a minimum spend and online they have free delivery when spending £25 and £5 off orders over £30.

This seems a better offer anyway. Hope this helps anyone that missed out at Boots.
  • My order is still at the processing stage, seems odd that it hasn't dispatched yet, and if I query it no doubt it will be cancelled. How annoying.

On the bright side, if a product goes oos but the other items part of the same offer get sent they give you some sort of compensation so as to make sure you don't lose out, you also get to keep the original amount of points allocated to the order, so you may find that the item sent you is a free item skibster.

The argan oil hair treatment isn't the same thing, you can buy pure argan oil and mix it with hair serum to get a similar product I imagine, most chemists stock argan oil around £6-£8 a bottle.
