Credit Card Debt To Loan?

Hi,
I currently owe £4400 on a CC, took advantage of Halifax offering 9 months interest free balance transfer as an exsiting card holder, so took debt from 2 other cards to this one.
In the 9 months i have managed to get around £1200 clear taking me to the balance of £4400 left.
Now my issue... the 9 months is due to end mid september, having been looking for a new card but really struggling to get anyone who will give me a balance transfer anywhere near that best so far has been £1600.
Having gone into the bank my current account with, they suggested a loan...
I have a weekend job and would be using any money from this to pay off this debt (around £400/£500 a month) so could clear this debt whether it be CC or loan within a year, just wondering if anyone has any advice on this?
A loan for some reason seems like an option i would rather not take but not quite sure why?

A loan would have a fixed term, a CC you can pay to suite yourself each month.
What interest is on the loan and whats your CC rate ?0 -
The loan's interest was 14% a £5k loan i would be paying around £360 on top.
The cc i can't be definate but think its in the region on 16.9% but as i say not totally sure.
The loan does have the option of paying off early with no penalty, so if i go down that road may take the loan for 2 years and whatever money i earn on top of what i was paying i would save and pay it off when i couldWanna be debt free by ......24/4/12 - Overdraft: £1,756.87 - Tesco CC: £900 - Loan: £5,7160
