Got clothes vouchers for xmas, would've prefered hard cash!

For Christmas I was given clothes shop vouchers for Christmas. However, I would much rather of had cash to get my current account back in the black (I'm sorry, I know that does sound ungrateful) or paid off a chunk off my credit card.

I've got £20 in Next vouchers and three seperate Topshop vouchers - one for £15, one for £20 and one for £30.

I was thinking about seeing if anyone at work wants to buy them off me for their face value. What do you think?

Most vouchers make very close to or near to face value on ebay. Can't for the life of me think why, but strange animals, us people.

I've sold vouchers on eBay for nearly their face value (minus one or 2 pounds) so if you give that a go you'll end up with a bit of cash.

You could try going back to the shop and asking if you can change them back into cash. Don't know how likely they are to help but might be worth giving it a go?

    Makes sense...kinda. :D
You could also use them as presents for people instead of having a 'birthday' fund. That said, it's often easier to get presents that look more expensive than they really are so might not be huge savings there.

People don't like linking a bank account to paypal because:

    a) they don't trust paypal not to take money from their bank account in error or as the result of a dispute,
    b) their bank account is in the red, so any money would be swallowed up and they wouldn't be able to spend it,
    c) they don't want to share the money with whoever they share the bank account with,
    d) linking a bank account would link one paypal account with another that already has the bank account attached and the idea of a second paypal account was that its kept separate,
    e) paypal pot is for spending not saving,
    f) they live overseas so can't link to a british bank account
    g) they have no bank account....

I've seen M&S and Argos vouchers go for more than face value!

Similar for me except I got some Sainsburys Vouchers from my mum as it's her local and she can't travel far these days - but I'm a Tescos or Morrisons person but I've been using the sainsburys vouchers to buy petrol! I did buy myself an electric toothbrush from Sainsburys so I could tell her that I've bought myself something and it's not something I would have splashed out on normally. I've also been given some M & S vouchers from my Aunt but not too sure what to do with them yet but I might use them to buy pressies or hang on to them till I need some undies!
  • Ebay is very good for vouchers. We had a £20 thomson voucher and a £25 voucher for thomas cook left over from our wedding gifts so we put them on ebay and got £18 and £24.50 respectively. Not bad for nothing!

Not only that with vouchers, a friend asked me for a voucher for House of Fraser for Christmas, the nearest one to me is 25 mile away or something, was cheaper and easier to order from eBay.
One day I might be more organised...........
