£15 Amazon voucher to new Lovefilm subscribers

Options
I couldn't see anything in the t&c that suggested you had to pay for a certain term and I am also not eligible for it as have had a trial with lovefilm before but I think this may be good if you're not with them. Like I said I can't see any t&c's relating directly to the voucher so you may have to subscribe for a certain amount of time, if anyone can figure it out (sorry, I am a bit useless tbh!) then it may be a good one!
I found it here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thumbelina-DVD/dp/B0000AZVGD/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313338231&sr=8-1
EDIT: you do have to subscribe to one of the higher priced monthly packages though, so I guess you probably do have to pay? Sorry can't tell, am new to all of this

  • if you google (or someone with link privileges goes nuts!) there's actually one that gives you a 30 day free trial and a £20 voucher. All you need to do is register, put ten items in your basket and then wait until the first dvd has been sent and returned. Although apparently you have to phone up to cancel it, which I should definitely do at some point today...:)

When you cancel its a bit of a pain as the person at the contact centre will go through about 4 different ways to try and make you keep the subscription before they just accept that you are cancelling and process it. I got offered something akin to the taste card for a few months to stay eventually as well as asked to sign up for 6 months at a slightly reduced rate.
  • A true money saving expert would use topashback, as it is currently offering £15.15. :D Plus you can spend it where ever, not just Amazon.

I disagree. I've never had this problem and many other people haven't easier (at least, they stated they didn't). A hassle free, hard sell free and quick experience. Just said I wanted to quit, gave my details, reason why and all done.

I also agree with above poster, I have had no problems cancelling and in fact I have done it by email through my account. The customer services are very good!

Was just sharing my experience where they tried to "overcome my objections", I thought I'd be able to cancel on the website, but they had removed that option so I had to call. Perhaps I just got a particularly zealous customer service rep :)

Maybe you did. Maybe they now get rewarded for persuading customers to stay.

It probably depends on who you get.

I must say that cancelling (for me) was a huge pain. Couldn't do it via the website, whatever time of day or night I tried, and actually took 4 attempts before I could get hold of anybody long enough - the first 3 times I phoned up and said I was calling to cancel the line 'mysteriously' went dead. Had to go through a huge sales pitch, but they did cancel it OK and I did get the voucher.
  • If i understood correctly one simply has to register, put 10 DVDs in his basket, receive the 1st DVD, return it, wait for them to receive it back (how do you check that?) and then finally phone them to cancel everything. Is that right?

What is the soonest one can cancel the membership? Do you reckon it's possible to do the whole thing in less than one month from registration for sure?

Phone once it is in the post and mention you have sent it back. The membership will then get cancelled once they receive it. I've done it twice before and no problems, personally.
