Debt Collection Agency took too much money

Hi

Has anyone any idea's what I should do?

I have had a payment plan in place for some time now with an organisation called NDR (National Debt Recovery) who are basically a 'collector of monies' outfit for Shop Direct.

Ive been paying a fixed amount every 4 weeks and have only 2 payments left. I used to log on to their own website and manually pay with my bank card. As I only had two payments left I set up a re-occurring payment - one for this months payment and one for the final payment, next month.

Instead of taking one payment, NDR took FIVE payments one after the other and then attempted to take FIFTY TWO more payments in the space of a few minutes! The reason they couldn't is because they cleaned out my bank with the five payments.

I logged into my account on NDR and sure enough there was my account in credit exactly the amount of the five payments they took.

I rang NDR and spoke to someone who started passing me around saying its not their problem etc etc.

I have had to cancel my bank card in case it happens again - the payment went thru using the VISA payment.

How do I get my money back what they took?

PS ..its a long way before pay day with no money!

Have you tried asking your bank, was it a direct debit?

I would allow a few days for the transactions to show up on your bank statement with the company name next to the transactions.

Then you should either call the company to refund the extra money they have collected OR contact your bank and ask them to do a visa charge back for you.

It would be quicker to contact the company direct and ask them for the refund.

    Thanks

I rang the NDR people the next day and spoke to someone who just kept trying to fob me off to someone esle.

The entries have just appeared on my statement, I'll see about the charge back (it was payment via VISA not direct debit)

Does it show the company name next to the amounts?
