Invitation decorations/embellishments

Hello!
We are planning on making our own invitations (love a crafty project!) but I am struggling to find fun wedding themed embellishments that aren't old fashioned or too plain for our taste.

We're quite young and we want something that's fun and not too formal. A lot of the things I've seen on craft websites are quite boring!

I was thinking of making little top hats out of black felt to stick on the invites but I wanted something to represent the bride like a little veil or tiara, to mirror the top hat, but I can't find that kind of thing anywhere.

Does anyone know a good craft website or have any idea how I could hand make a little veil / tiara??

All I seem to find is stickers of 'greetings card' looking brides! Haha! Or white paper dresses and 3 tier cakes, too traditional!!

Any help/ideas much appreciated!! Any ideras besides my own would be nice too, I can't think of anything else to stick on the invites!!

For your tiaras how about using glitter and PVA glue? You could make your invites, stick your top hats on, then using a cocktail stick and some glue draw a simple tiara pattern, then take your glitter and sprinkle over and pat down so it's all stuck down. :) Or if you were doing them fairly biggish you could get some glittery silver card and cut them out.
Something like this perhaps - you could make them as big/small as you like, and in whatever design you like.

Or you could get some really fine netting and cut out some small veils - but the problem with this would be the netting fraying.

mrs ds idea is brill if u go round the edges of the netting with pva glue it looks like a pencil edging and wont fray

you could use wire for the tiara and then add glitter
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5
