leaving for honeymoon in 1hr!

As it says - we're off in an hour!
we're going to rome for 2 and a half days, then travelling to Belguim to go to pukkelpop music festival.
I'm sad to be leaving my son for a week - only ever spent 2 nights in a row away from him so it will be a big change, but I'm excited to spend a week with my hubby as we've never spent that amount of time together since our son was born. We're planning to take in the sights and see some great bands - maybe a bit of romance ;) too!
gonna miss MSE though! see you all in a week x

Jemb Rome was lovely for a honeymoon destination, we walked everywhere as pretty much every street has nice shops or an old decorative church on it, lots of nice fountains too. We queued for about an hour to go to the Sistine Chapel but it was worth it and the St Peter's Basilica is just breathtaking!
It was really hot though - between 28 and 35 degrees while we were there so would go in the spring if you can.

otherwise our tent was crushed by a tree at Pukkelpop during the hurricane -thankfully we were not in it as we had been watching a band and had ran to another music tent to shelter from it but some of our things we had to abandon and others were ruined. We had to spend the night in a community centre which had been made up as a makeshift shelter and had to walk round barefoot cos there was so much flooding making the soil all muddy, we weren't aloud to get to our tent until the next day so made our way back to Brussels and got a hotel there. we tried to make the most of it but it was a bit rubbish there, not much to do and to be honest we felt like our honeymoon was ruined.

they say you'll never forget your honeymoon - they're certainly right lmao!
