Hey Flat Eric - how has January gone? Have you managed to stop finding yourself things to buy??

I've got quite upset with the way the internet stalks me over the last few months. If I browse a site, it then keeps showing me stuff I've looked at when I've moved on. It's evil!!

sorry, I completely missed your post. I haven't posted in ages! January went ok as far as I can remember although Feb and March went a bit pear shaped... see below ....
    how you doing hun?

I have spent lots of dosh since I last posted! Getting a kindle was a bad idea! one of my daily rituals is to see what the daily deal of the day is and when I got home from work last week and discovered that there was a kindle spring sale, I ended up buying 19 books! I have gone against my mantra and bought books that I already own! and I think nothing of paying £4.99 for a kindle book when I wouldn't pay that price for a tree version. The most expensive book I have bought so far cost £10.99 although to be fair this was a cookbook. It doesn't seem like real money when you buy a kindle book. literally its one click and the book is purchased.

I have also expanded my cross stitch stash, buying from my favourite craft retailers several times over the last few months and buying several bits on ebay - including putting in high bids to secure the items.

Boredom has played a part in my spending habits. As I have mentioned previously, I find it very easy to switch on the computer of a morning and browse the web and find stuff to buy.

A trip to the dentist last month for expensive dental work was unexpected and not planned for. Of course I had no savings to fall back on to pay the bill!

For the first time in what has seemed like ages, I have been paid and have had very little overdraft and no credit card so I have had lots of spare money which I have soon spent 10 x over.

I was overdrawn this month within a few days of getting paid and I must ensure I stop my free for all spending because I have a holiday coming up and want to save for it. I also need to book an eye test and will no doubt need new glasses so need to save for that too.

I'm doing well with saving my small change but not so well with food shopping and planning menus. Money could be saved here.

Bus fare that I have mentioned about previously has gone up again so will aim to walk to save money and get fit.

Need to sit quietly and plan money and decide on a fixed amount for spending on treats. Perhaps I can do that tomorrow or Monday.
