Most online sites have an option to check the delivery areas, or it is part of signing up

Please check to see if we deliver to your postcode

You might want to wait until Tesco have managed sort things out

I haven't had any problem like that shopping online with Tesco. They aren't my favourite online grocery store but they do a good job.

I think that's a good idea that we hadn't considered. Our Morrisons is about 10 minutes walk but I always have to take my partner with me; I can't lift/carry a lot at the moment as I have a poorly hip. :( Otherwise I would go by myself...

I think I'll have a look on online shopping. Do you have to have the store nearby or do they deliver? I can't wait to have to new ASDA opening here, it's a pain in the !!!!!

each store who employs pickers covers a set area with the store in the centre. so you could have a store thats 10 miles away and they might deliver iygwim
  • hi - new to posting but lurking a long time! I'm in a similar position and have found meal planning really helps. There's a reallly good thread on here for coupons - bit extreme but very useful. I've saved loads! More than enough to make up for the cost of a delivery once every few weeks.
Also, if you have enough freezer space, batch cooking & freezing. So many threads on here and i'm really sorry I'm a newbie to posting so i cant post links :(
I'd kill to have an Aldi near me, and you might find that as you get used to the new (to you) supermarkets then you'll be shopping less and less.

Hi Method! Sadly our freezer is tiny... this was my plan when we moved out of our student house! I'm going to trawl the coupon thread now. My problem is that I love special offers, I buy a few and it puts £10 or so onto the bill. I think this month we're going to try online shopping with ASDA, worth a try isn't it?!
Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt! :D:D

have a look on freecycle and see if you can get a freezer hun. We only have 2 small shelves in our freezer and then 1 cupboard and 1 shelf in a fridge but we have loads crammed in lol x

I *really* want a chest freezer, but we have nowhere to put it in the kitchen, unless we keep it in the spare bedroom. Ha ha!

Thanks everyone for your help on here. Mr.Kitty has started a new job recently, which means he doesn't get paid until the end of September. :'( So after bills, expenses etc, food shopping was our next priority. I looked at all the online shopping who would deliver to our area which were Tesco and ASDA. Tesco wanted between £5-£7 to deliver while ASDA didn't seem to have the range they do on the store. We wrote everything we needed down and took advice from this thread & board; I went to iceland & farmfoods on the way home from Uni & then did a big shop in asda. Hope we don't have to buy anything until my next pay day except for milk, bread and eggs!
