Not sure what you mean by "silver tubs" - do you mean foil containers, or metal? And does warm mean at room temperature? Not sure why they would be hot?

I would think that cool food in room temperature containers would be fine.
But how long are you planning to keep them in the fridge - 7 tubs sounds like a lot - are you going to freeze some?

  • Lol...I will start again...I cooked chilli and made 7 foil containers worth. The containers were a bit warm from the food going into them when it was cooked. I put them in the fridge overnight to cool properly, then Froze them.

    does that make sense?

I wondered if they were ok being chilled in fridge qwhilst still a bit warm?

I think the chilli will be fine, no harm to it by cooling it quickly. It just might have made your fridge temperature a bit higher, which might mean some food would go off quicker, but I would guess that !!!!!! these days can cope with a rise in temp by just working a bit harder:confused:

Im sure it will be ok if its slightly warm but there would be no harm in leaving it until you woke up in the morning. Its been cooked and has been put in a container, so the chances of any bugs from breeding is minimal. Id rather do that than put any warm food in the fridge or freezer.
