Dunnes Stores Saver Stamp Card

About a year ago I got one of these and saved stamps on it till it was full (card with 49 stamps is worth £50).
According to what it says on the card this can be spent on anything you like in Dunnes stores. Now a guy at the customer service desk tells me that I can only use it for groceries.
Their website is no help as it only applies to their ROI stores, so I can't check there.
Has anyone else had one of these cards recently?
