Engagement Retro Photo Shoot - North East Locations?

We're currently arranging an engagement photo shoot as part of our wedding package and thinking of locations in the North East of England where we could go?
The theme of our wedding is Retro (VW Campers, Lego, 80s Kids TV Table Names etc) so would be good if it was quirky & in keeping with this to represent us as a couple but not essential.
Any suggestions of good north east photography locations would be much appreciated?

There's a little bar called Alvinos in Newcastle - it has amazing decor including some of the stuff you've mentioned. I would check it out. Near to the metro radio offices.
Hope this helps!Professional Photographer with a love of bargain hunting.. Been a moneysavingexpert since 2006 :-D

Thanks for the suggestion on Alvino's, we've checked it out and the graffati art on the terrace is pretty cool and could be an interesting backdrop for the photos.
