YBS - Changing deal after application but before completion?

I still like the look of both the 2 year tracker + 3 year fix and the 5 year offset deals with YBS and this covers Half your mortgage term!!!!
Only my views but I have just finished a 5 year fixed offset with YBS and now on a good tracker deal with them and like you have been overpaying/saving into offset to clear the mortgage ASAP0 -
what done it for us. have around 8.5 years of a mortgage remaining and taking the 2yr tracker and 3 fixed mortgage can reduce our term to 6 yrs 11 months for the same payment, that's without overpaying so a no brainer as they say................0

I've got a YBS offset fixed mortgage, its just coming to the end of it's fixed term. We kept the repayment amount fixed so have effectively been paying off the loan faster.
We're both self-employed so having the flexibility to use the money in the offset when needed or put more in when able has been great.
I suppose the only issue would arise if we could earn a higher tax free interest rate on savings elsewhere and have the same level of flexibility.0 -
Just to update this.... I spoke to YBS today and as they hadn't actually processed our application they were able to change from the 5 yr fixed to the 2 year tracker at no cost

Now just got to hope we made the right choice and that rates stay low - fingers crossed!0 -
