Last minute glitch in mortgage application

Hi
Out of interest did you get your mortgage as a supply teacher - I'm having trouble as they are classed as temporary workers - any tips for me please?

Liz,
I'm sorry, I've only noticed your reply. Yes, I did get the mortgage, eventually! It was the most stressful time of my life but turned out to be worth it. It all seems so long ago and so many bits of paper went back and forward. I think, in the end, it turned out the lender was considering my loan on the basis of my long term employment and intimation from my headteacher that I would likely be required for at least another year. However, than there was confusion over my salary which turned out to be all because they had no record of a letter my office manager sent confirming I was paid for holidays!
Only advice I can offer is to get all the relevant info they might need on a single letter even before they asked for it (I was asked for different bits of info, and reconfirmation of them when things got confused, every other day). I think if I had asked my school office to send in one letter: confirmation of how long I had worked there, indication that I would be kept on for another year, my salary and information about how holiday pay is calculated and when it is paid, things would have been a bit smoother.
Have you made any progress? Yorkshire Building Society seemed most keen to help me, before my initial lender accepted.0
