Hi
Not sure if this is the right board for this, but sure you`ll be able to help.
Which is best value?
Am I best to but supermarket value or own brand? I used to get it at Lidl but without a car at mo, so not an option.
Also is the stuff made from concentrate ok? Read somewhere that your best to buy the proper stuff.

Have you tried making your own? You obviously need a juicer (either manual or electric - electric is easier), but worth it for taste and no nasty preservatives and not made from concentrate. Plus, if you get reduced fruit/veg you can save a fortune too.:hello:0

We tend to juice our own when we can be bothered and if not then we use either the Sainsbury freshly squeezed when on offer (2 bottles for £3.00) or Tropicana as it can usually be found somewhere on offer at 2 cartons for £2.50 max. It seems expensive at first but we try to limit ourselves to one glass per day which is all that counts towards your 5 portions (though DS sneaks more glasses when he can get away with it). Years ago I used to drink concentrate until I read an article by a personal trainer saying he wouldn't put it in his body!0

I tend to buy fruit juice mainly for winemaking so the stuff made from concentrate is fine for that, though it's acceptable to drink too.
Prices seem to have been going up recently, but Home Bargains still sell litre cartons of orange juice from concentrate for 49p. It's around 60p everywhere else. For the stuff that isn't made from concentrate you could try Heron if there's a store near you. They sell it very cheaply just before it's going out of date, and sometimes give it away with other purchases.Saved over £20K in 20 years by brewing my own booze.
Qmee surveys total £250 since November 20180 -
I do both, making my own and buy fresh. Sometimes just don't have the time to make it, my son drinks loads of it, as he's a very poor fruit/veg eater I encourage it. Usually Grove fresh organic or Tropicana if they don't have any, never any from concentrate, just prefer it fresh personally. Don't like the from concentrate stuff. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Personally I would choose the concentrated over fresh.
This is for 3 main reasons
1) its concentrated at source quickly, losing fewer nutrients
2) its shipped to the UK usually in concentrate form, making it better for the environment (less is flown volume wise)
3) its cheaper
Nothing, but nothing comes close to squeezing my own by hand in the carribbean from oranges squeezed off the back of the truck taking them to market. Nothing. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
