A voucher for £10 Off Every Hundred You Spend
Use the *** code and affiliate link deleted by Board Guide ***
If the voucher works correctly, the price should come down to £449.990 -
£449.99 is a superb price for what is the best realistically priced digital SLR on the market. They regularly sell for much more than that via ebay, even on American import ... and then you don't always get the lens kit. Ideal step up from high spec consumer digitals like the Panasonic FZ range.
Is being replaced by new model tho' so prices MAY just drop more depending on stocks left. Worth checking ebay regularly from now on, but buyinmg from Jessops does have advantages.
EDIT 'Sorry, but this Voucher cannot be redeemed with these items.' just tried to see if the voucher with link works and it doesn't! Shame ... EDIT -0 -
Canon EOS 300D kit is £499.89 incl delivery from currys.co.uk, but this is reduced to £474.90 with 5% codes (search on voucher board).
If you have an egg visa card, and use the link on the egg website, you can get 5% cashback, reducing the cost further to £451.15 (I think!)People are more important than things0 -
Canon have actually announced when the new version comes out they will be dropping the price of the existing 3000D. However for £450 - £499 the price is very good."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

£449 plus delivery of around £4.00. This is the body only version. If you alreadsy have Canon lenses then ideal.
Some places still selling for over £800 ... boy, you'd kick yourself if you paid that LOL :-)0 -
Watch out and shop around to better prices. A new model called the 350D is already out and prices for the 300 are tubbling.0

The 300D had a special cash back deal before Xmas and around New Year in anticipation of the new model being announced. That MAY have begun to reduce local supplies significantly.
I wouldn't therefore assume that it will get much, much cheaper as it will only do so if there are lots of unsold units within supply chain. Also, Canon need to be careful not to reduce overall perceived value of their pro-sumer SLR brand as that could work against new model.
If there are good supplies around still then my guess is we may see prices drop as low as the £399 point if some good bulk deals are agreed by retailers. We saw this with the Panasonic FZ3 recently which is available for £199.99 from one supplier, while still available from likes of Jessops for £349.
The gamble therefore is: buy at currently good price and be sure of getting one, or wait to see what happens to the price, but risk losing out! The new 350D is significantly more expensive at the moment, though prices will drop.0 -
Im waiting! I already have a 3MP Canon S30 that gives me what I want just now. I would like to move onto the big boys camera, but like I say cant justify the cost to myself. Ive watched them come down £200 already in over a year, and if I miss out, then I will have another look around at the time. I was going to order a while back when Currys and Dixons had them for £499, or £399 with the £100 Canon cashback. Of course, there was hardly any stock about and I missed out then.
The 300 will definitely come down some more when the new model comes out, and there will be a load of second hand ones on ebay and forums as well. Id rather buy new though to get the warranty.

Can get this online from America for approx $400 (220 quid). There is no duty on still digital cameras (apparently) and so you will only pay VAT (£35). Max total cost would be £300!
