But i dont and never have, they even have got my name incorrect with a middle name which i ahvene't even got but still wont believe me. I have sent them copies of my passport and driving licence but they say they were not good copies and i must send them again or pay the money! Erm..
The problem is that you have been engaging with them.
It is not your responsibility to prove your do not owe the debt; it is Moorcrofts responsibility to prove you owe it. And their responsibility to stop any debt collection activity if the debt is disputed.
letter coming up.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks for replying,
i wish now i had not answered their calls or sent my passport etc.. but they spoke about going to court and balifs etc.. I thought it was best to co-operate but now i just dont know how to stop them harrassing me! And they want me to re-send copies of my passport etc as said they were not clear enough but i have got copies infront of me and they are fine and readable!
Thanks again

The problem is that when you are on the phone they can suggest all sorts of things that are not possible, becauce there is no come back. The operative thing is the word "may" - could happen but wont.
You need to send them this and refuse to speak to them again.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=11570893&postcount=2 You might want to add that you have never had a Barclaycard account.
The reason the copies you sent are not good enough is because they do not allow this load of sharks to collect the money. They do not care who pays, even if they do not owe the money.
If they come back with anything other than confirmation that the demand is closed, come back here for help.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks so much,
will do the letter this evening, fingers crossed it will be an end to this stressful situation!
I really appreciate your time and help given with this.

Tell them to take you to court if they don't believe you. That'll be a laugh lol0

If I was you, I'd let them take me to court then submit a counter-claim against them for inconvenience, distress caused, loss of earnings, own court costs, etc
Their solicitors and Counsel will look a right bunch of fools in court. Judge may even rule the case and the Company as vexatious litigants - this will then mean that they cannot bring any future proceedings without leave of the court itself.

my ex worked in the Sheriff Court in Glasgow and told me a story of a Sheriff REALLY losing it with a debt collection company to the point of shouting at their representative. I only wish I could remember more details as I was not an mse-er back then.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage
