At story time in my local library the librarian handed out bookmarks from bbc.co.uk/raw.

She said if we rang the free phone number 08000 150 950 then we could get a free book that is good with helping tell stories to children.

I rang with out checking out the website first which was a little silly so please check out

RaW is the BBC’s biggest ever campaign that aims to help adults across the UK read and write better.

RaW is for everyone (did you know there are 12 million adults in the UK who struggle with reading and writing)? However, there is a special focus on families. If you have kids and you’d like to help them read better, or you’d like to read them better stories, RaW can help.



as I was asked a few questions about my highest qualifications etc. Even though I was not the target group they are still sending me the pack and if it is not suitable then I can pass it on to some one who may find it more useful

not sure what is in the pack other than a book and stickers. Will let you know in a couple of weeks when it turns up. (lady said about a 2 wk wait)

If not sutable for you it may be for some one you know.

Sorry forgot to update you all on contents of pack.

Well it is a book with some stickers. don't know why it was called a pack but there you go.

The book is called Max and Laura's Amazing Travelling Space Circus a family guide to developing better reading and writing skills.

On each page you get a small chunk of the story then some hints on ways to expand the story and an activity to do.

It is a very good book, but it is more like a school book.
