Cheap valet parking at Gatwick - anyone used Gatwick Valet Parking....

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but there is a company offering cheap valet parking where they come and meet you from the airport when your flights comes in etc... They are giving vouchers for their service out on eBay and wondered if anyone else has used them. It's a huge deal to leave your car in the trust of someone while away for two weeks - let's face it, anything could happen. But here is the link to their About Me page, http://members.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=gatwick_parking

What do you think? Honestly? I am wondering if anyone had experience or had heard of this company before. Not sure it is in the right area but as it was cheap offers thought I would post here - sorry if it's wrong, please move if you have to.

Edit: Mods: Found a more appropriate board in Travel, please delete if possible, thanks. Thanks.

Could it be the same as this company? Gatwick Valet Parking brings up this company in Google.

Just had a look at their site. 10 days costs £104.99 without 'winning' a voucher. Vouchers appear to cost from £4.99 for 15%, to £19.99 for 65%. It seems a strange way of selling your services to me.

APH Gatwick charge £39.05 for 10 days according to these people, just using random dates.

Yes, I know I can get cheaper but this is for parking alone, if I consider this option I'll do a package with a hotel which I can get for around £90 hotel and parking. I have Tesco Vouchers I have been saving for Purple Parking but was interested in the Valet Parking, they meet you and take your car direct from the Airport and then you call them when you get back and they meet you outside the terminal. I saw that GVP had a voucher for 65% for 15 days parking it is £49.87 plus winning bid of £19.99 which is under £70 and no hassle of getting to and from the car parks - PP have their Boomerang Service for £130 but you can't get this at Gatwick with the Tesco Vouchers which is why I started looking around. I did think it strange that they was offering these savings but maybe it is because it is off peak and then they'll get recommendations fr the summer. That is why I wondered if anyone else had used them. Scary to think your car could be used for a robbery or something with changed plates, that is what is worrying me, not that getting away very fast in a Kia Rio will do much for their street cred, LOL!!

I used PAS at Gatwick last year & it was great. I think it was £92 for 15 nights. Booked online & at the time if your have an online quote & dont book it there & then it offers you 10% off, so then go on & book it.

    Cheers Madcow

I don't have experience of these services. I would much prefer to be driven by public transport or one of these airport transfer taxi services I think.

I haven't heard of these cheap "Valet Parking" services before so instead of the onsite secure carparks you give them the keys to your car and they dump it somewhere else and return it at the end of the holiday? I would check they are properly insured first.

In this news story (not saying these companies are linked in anyway) - people were leaving their cars in a secure car park but unkown to them they were being removed and parked in an old quarry with their keys left in the doors. Apparently it was ok as it was in the small print! but the company had to stop as they hadn't got planning permission for parking there.
  • We have used valet parking at Gatwick with "Maple Mannor" several times in the past, and would certainly use them again in the future. Cheaper than on-site parking and you do not have to struggle getting your cases on/off transfer busses.

  • Hi, I used to work at APH - a Gatwick parking company and also booked Valet Parking on behalf of Customers, I've never heard of this company, you need to be really careful as there are some fradulant ones out there that just dump your car - don't mean to scare. The questions to ask are where is my car kept while in your care, can you give me an exact address? How does the insurance lie? You should get a good gauge from that. Failing that APH really are fab, I don't work there anymore and still use their parking and bus service in and out of the airport. If you have ever used them before you get a discount ;-) (didn't come from me). If you want Valet particularly, PAS are very good although probably not as cheap.

We used them last year. They were very good at taking the car and returning it, but it came back splashed with mud, so we weren't sure where it had been parked?!
