Sorry to hear about your predicament. There are lots of people on here that will be able to offer you some help.

Is it possible to appeal the agency's decision - via your GP/psychiatrist?

I do think that it might be worth checking out the Old Style board for ideas on saving money on food. I know your family is 2 adults + 2 children, but £180 could be improved upon with a little effort and planning.

Have you tried approaching your landlord about having a water meter fitted? I would definitely checkout your gas/electric to ensure you are paying the best deal possible as has been suggested.

You don't seem to have included any maintenance costs for the car or TV licence costs, check the figures again as I think you might have missed some things. Use Martin's template if necessary to prompt you. It will help you see how much you need to bridge the gap.

Your petrol seems very high - can you not use public transport to lower these costs?

Do you have anything you can sell on ebay to try to make up the money owed to the council and subsidise other costs? As mentioned, they won't put up with arrears for long.

How long is left on the TV HP deal?
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

HI just a thought, how much are you charging people to people for looking after these sites for them? Could you ask them for a bit more cash even a couple of quid each would help. I'm with virgin internet pay 17.99 a month and have 2meg (upgraded to up to 8meg for free) with unlimited bandwidth as I'm in a similar situation, I know that is expensive too still but I didn't want to be tied to a 12 month contract. Does that price include hosting or is that something else you need to add onto your soa?

You can make your own tivo recorder quite simply these days if you are good a computers, you just need a very basic pc with a video input/output a big hard disk and some software off the net which can do the job of letting you choose what programs to tape. Might work out cheaper depending on what bits you have knocking about.
